Video Contents: Talk by Dr Don Patton:
Scientific Creationism differs from general Creationism.
The latter simply represents the belief that life and the universe were specially created by God, whilst the former represents the additional belief and assertion that this can be proven via science and scientific methods.
Thus, Scientific Creationism is a form of creationism which purports to no longer be a religious faith and instead strives to be a valid, scientific pursuit. In fact, there is often an attempt made by scientific creationists to disassociate themselves from traditional, "biblical" creationism by not relying upon the Bible or any explicitly religious arguments in their presentation.
It is their goal to be as purely scientific as possible because they believe, correctly, that if they inject religion into their arguments, then they won't be regarded as making a scientific case anymore.
That said, it is nonetheless inevitable that any Christian Scientific Creationists are often motivated to research, and corroborate if possible, Biblical accounts. However the field of Scientific Creationism is not solely the domain of Christian researchers, and it is true to say that there are also Islamic Scientific Creationists and Jewish Scientific Creationists etc.
